Really late Playoff picks

First things first, Thank you guys for all of the support this year, it has gotten me through tough times. I’m also planning on transitioning my content to are more streamlined content that helps me out. Stay tuned.

This year’s NBA Playoffs are already going down in history but as tipoff begins for the final eight times, I’m tossing in my super late picks for each round and why.

Heat vs Bucks

Who wins: Heat in 6

Why?: Much of the media is taking the Bucks and attribute this due to the series loss last year after they collapsed in the ECF to Miami in addition to acquiring Jrue Holiday. I’m not buying this. Yes, the Bucks have improved but Miami will be much more prepared than the Bucks. The Heat still has the edge over the Bucks in Championship experience, intangibles, and gameplan.

Mavericks vs Clippers

Who wins: Mavericks in 6

Why?: This is also another rematch from last year’s playoffs. Both teams have been on great streaks to end the season but for me, it comes down to whose bench can contribute. I think Dallas has a deeper bench and can help ease the scoring responsibilities on Doncic and Prozingis whereas for LA it’s almost Reggie Jackson or bust because Kawhi and PG can’t be the only ones to shoulder scoring this series.

Celtics vs Nets

Who wins: Nets in 5

Why? As great as the Celtics are, Tatum would need to continue to score 50+ points to Boston a fighting chance. With Brown still hurt and the other scoring threat being Kemba, Nets will be too much to handle between KD, Kyrie, and James Harden. They will most likely want to end this series early to continue to rest.

Trailblazers vs Nuggets

Who wins: Trailblazers in 6

Why? I feel that the injury to Jamal Murray hurts Denver’s chances for a deep playoff run. Jokic is still a key part of the team but now he will have a bigger target on him during this series. Portland, on the other hand, has some injuries of their own but they still have a good enough squad to overcome Denver.

Wizards vs 76ers

Who wins: 76ers in 5

Why?: This is the only matchup so far that felt closest to a clean sweep but I feel that 76ers are suspect and can let a game or two slip before sealing the deal.

Lakers vs Suns

Who wins: Lakers in 6

Why?: As beat up as the Lakers are, I think they can claw their way past a good Phoenix team that is second in the West. This matchup is going to be filled with trips to the free-throw line that will ultimately help set the tone for this series.

Hawks vs Knicks

Who wins: Knicks in 6

Why?: This series can honestly go either way. I would imagine that if defense means anything then New York will send Atlanta home. They are one of the best defensive teams this year, credit to Thibodeau, and they have a great blend of young players with veterans. I expect Atlanta to make this a series the Knicks will advance.

Grizzlies vs Jazz

Who wins: Jazz in 6

Why?: The Grizzlies have been battling their way late in the season to get in the playoff seedings and I feel that their trip stops here. As great as they have been playing, the Jazz, overall, has a deeper team and will slow down Valanciunas and Morant despite having Donovan Mitchell injured.
